More military research into memetic engineering was announced recently.Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), wants to hire a group specialising in "Narrative Networks" to figure out how susceptable people are to “narratives” (oral stories, speeches, propaganda, books, etc.) and then supplant these narrative messages with “better” messages - to make sure that the most "vulnerable" people do not become terrorists by mistake.
