There have been quite a few attempts to imitate the success of the Human Genome project in the realm of memes. The latest is The Human Memome Project. The basic idea seems to be to mirror the impact of genomic analysis on disease, by identifying, categorizing and rating the impact of memes on human health and wellbeing.
