A few things are worth noting here. There are quite a few terms from genetic that have direct parallels in memetics - and which are based on the gene-meme parallel.
I think this helps to illustrate the value of the parallel. It also illustrates some of what you are missing if you don't use the meme terminology.
One of the other points of the exercise - from my perspective - was to identify some of the less regular terminology, so decisions can be made about what to do with it.
From the "Irregular terms" section - we have "Memeplex" - but there is no "Geneplex" - but there should be!
